Common Palolo Worm [Palolo viridis]

Description
The common palolo worm is a species of marine annelid worm. It is known for its unique reproductive behavior, where it releases its reproductive segments into the sea where they rise to the surface and burst, releasing eggs and sperm. This event usually coincides with the third quarter of the lunar month. The worm generally lives in coral reefs and is often found in the Indo-Pacific region.
