Giant Phyllodoce [Phyllodoce maculata]

Description
Phyllodoce maculata, commonly known as the Giant Phyllodoce, is a species of polychaete worm in the family Phyllodocidae. It is found in the northeastern Pacific Ocean, ranging from the intertidal zone to depths of around 200 meters. This marine species is characterized by its large size, reaching up to 20 centimeters in length, and its distinctive coloration, with a dark blue or purple body and lighter blue spots. Its behavior is largely sedentary, burrowing in sandy or muddy substrates and feeding on small invertebrates and detritus.
