Glacier Sponge [Aplysilla glacialis]
Description
The Aplysilla glacialis, also known as the Glacier Sponge, is a beige-colored sponge species found in the polar waters of the Arctic and Antarctic. It grows in a variety of shapes but is often found as encrusting forms on rocks or other hard substrates. The species is characterized by the presence of large, conical papillae.
