Maritima Split-tooth Dorid [Hypselodoris maritima]
Description
Hypselodoris maritima is a dorid nudibranch that divers may notice for its neat, patterned appearance and the characteristic split-tooth look around the gill area. It’s commonly seen in habitats with abundant benthic life, where it can forage at a leisurely pace. Because it can be well-camouflaged against reef surfaces, slow, deliberate searching pays off.
