Sepia dollfusi [Sepia dollfusi]
Description
This cuttlefish can be surprisingly hard to spot at first, thanks to its excellent camouflage over sand, rubble, or algae-covered surfaces. Divers often notice it when it changes shape or orientation—then it may perform a quick retreat using jet propulsion and a burst of jet-black ink if pushed.
