Sepia carinata [Sepia carinata]
Description
Cuttlefish like this are masters of disguise, using rapid skin pattern changes to blend into sandy or rocky bottoms. Divers may spot them hovering near the seafloor, then suddenly “flash” their colors and textures as they communicate or react to nearby movement.
