Bathyalis Cuttlefish [Sepia bathyalis]
Description
Bathyalis cuttlefish are a deeper-water species, so sightings are less common and usually require dives on suitable slopes or deeper habitats. When encountered, divers may see a calm, deliberate movement through the water column, with subtle pattern changes that help them disappear against the dark, textured background.
