Description
Octopus alecto is a curious, intelligence-driven octopus that divers may encounter tucked into crevices, rubble, or rocky overhangs. With its ability to change color and texture, it can blend into the seafloor, then suddenly reveal itself as it investigates with arms extended and eyes fixed on the scene.
