Arctic Stalked Jellyfish [Haliclystus octoradiatus]
Description
The Arctic Stalked Jellyfish is a small jellyfish species that typically grows to 5 cm in diameter. It has eight arms, each with a cluster of up to 100 tentacles. This species is unique in that it is sessile, attaching itself to seaweed or other substrates using a stalk-like structure. It is found in the cold waters of the Arctic Ocean and the northern parts of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. It feeds on small plankton, which it catches with its tentacles.
