Ribbed whelk [Buccinum crebricarinatum]
Description
This whelk is recognizable by the more pronounced, closely spaced ridges or “carinae” on its shell. Underwater, it typically moves along the seafloor, where divers can sometimes see it tucked into crevices or slowly foraging over rough ground.
