Shingled Whelk [Buccinum abyssorum]
Description
This deep-water whelk is a slow-moving bottom dweller, often spotted on rocky or muddy substrates where it searches for food. Divers may notice its sturdy, spiraled shell and the “shingled” texture that helps it blend into the seafloor.
