Perry’s Lanternshark [Etmopterus perryi]
Description
In low-visibility depths, Perry’s lanternshark can appear as a compact, charcoal-colored shark with a steady, unhurried swimming style. Its bioluminescent pattern helps it blend in from below and above, so the “sparkle” effect is most noticeable when light catches the body.
