Broadband Lantern Shark [Etmopterus gracilispinis]
Description
This small deep-water shark is a bioluminescent specialist, often appearing as a dark silhouette with a faint, “glowing” look when light catches its body. Divers may notice subtle light patterns along the belly and flanks, especially in low-visibility conditions or when using a strong torch.
