Etmopterus alphus [Etmopterus alphus]
Description
A deepwater lanternshark, Etmopterus alphus is the kind of species divers may only see on deeper dives or in low-light conditions. Its subtle, dark silhouette and bioluminescent glow (when visible) can give it a ghostly look as it glides above the seafloor.
