Aplidium coei [Aplidium coei]

Description

Aplidium coei is typically seen as an encrusting tunicate attached to stones, ledges, or other stable surfaces. Under good light, divers can notice a fine, velvety or bumpy texture that helps it blend into the reef’s shadows. It’s a great example of how many “small” animals create habitat-like patches that add character to the seascape.
