Aplidium breviventer [Aplidium breviventer]
Description
Divers may find this species as an encrusting tunicate colony that blends into the surrounding hard substrate. Its colonies can look like a thin, textured layer, sometimes with slight color variation that stands out in good light. Because it’s relatively small and attached, it’s best seen during slow swims and close-up reef checks.
