Scalloped Ribbon Jellyfish [Rhopilema verrilli]
Description
The Scalloped Ribbon Jellyfish, Rhopilema verrilli, is a large jellyfish species native to the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of North America. This species is characterized by its large, scalloped bell which can reach up to 1 meter in diameter, and long, ribbon-like oral arms. Unlike most other jellyfish, the Scalloped Ribbon Jellyfish does not have tentacles. This species is most often found in warm, shallow waters and bays.
