Aplidium acroporum [Aplidium acroporum]

Description

Aplidium acroporum can show up as an encrusting colony on hard substrata, often in crevices or on stable rock faces. When divers get close, the colony’s surface can look finely patterned, reflecting the dense arrangement of zooids that filter food from the water.
