Colobonema apicatum [Colobonema apicatum]
Description
Colobonema apicatum is a hydroid that can look like a slender, elegant tuft or filamentous growth, often with a subtle “crown” or pointed tip. Divers may see it anchored to rocks or other hard surfaces, where it catches the light and contrasts with darker backgrounds. Its movement is gentle—mostly driven by the surrounding water flow.
