Parazoanthus lividum [Parazoanthus lividum]

Description

Divers often spot this colonial zoanthid as small, clustered polyps that form low, living patches on rocks and hard substrates. Depending on the light and water conditions, the polyps can look muted or slightly bluish-livid, giving the colony a subtle, speckled texture. Up close, the individual polyps are easy to pick out, and they can sway slightly with the current.
