Pocillopora tuahiniensis [Pocillopora tuahiniensis]

Description

Divers may recognize this species by its branching form that can resemble a miniature thicket, with many small ends projecting outward. It’s the kind of coral that adds texture to the reef, creating nooks and crannies for small fish and invertebrates. With changing light angles, its color can shift subtly, making it especially interesting during slow, close-up swims.
