Cauliflower Coral [Pocillopora effusa]
Description
Divers may encounter this coral as a more open, spreading form compared with some other Pocillopora species. Its branches and tips create a lacy, three-dimensional structure that catches light and casts tiny shadows. With patience, you can sometimes spot polyps extending from the branch ends, especially during active feeding times.
