Madracis senaria [Madracis senaria]
Description
Madracis senaria is a hard coral that divers may recognize by its compact, colony structure and the way it forms small reef-building growths. Depending on the site and depth, it can blend into the surrounding reef while still providing a noticeable texture when you get close. Look for it on stable substrates where currents bring food particles, and you’ll often see it as part of a diverse coral community.
