Pectinia pygmaea [Pectinia pygmaea]
Description
Pectinia pygmaea is a smaller, more compact pectinia coral that divers may find tucked into crevices or growing as tight, branching plates. Its surface tends to show fine, evenly spaced ridges that give it a neat, patterned look. Because it’s often less conspicuous than larger corals, divers who slow down and scan carefully can be rewarded with a close-up view.
