Crispy Crust Coral [Merulina ampliata]
Description
Merulina ampliata earns its name from the way it can look like a thin, crisp crust spread across rock or reef surfaces. Divers frequently spot it as a textured, plate-like coral that adds a “crackled” pattern to the substrate, sometimes with tiny life tucked into the micro-crevices.
