Larger Star Coral [Favites pentagona]
Description
Favites pentagona forms chunky, star-like coral heads with thick, rounded surfaces that can look almost “piled” together. Divers often notice its sturdy texture and the way the coral’s small mouths (polyps) can give a subtle speckled look across the colony, especially when the light hits just right.
