Lobed Cactus Coral [Lobophyllia hataii]
Description
Divers often spot this coral as a low, bumpy mound with thick, fleshy-looking lobes that resemble a cactus. In clear water, its surface texture and subtle color variations stand out, especially when light filters down and highlights the ridges. It’s a great “look closely” species—up close you can see the individual lobes and their gentle contours.
