Lobed Cactus Coral [Lobophyllia grandis]
Description
Lobophyllia grandis is typically seen as a larger, robust mound of lobes, giving it a bold presence on the reef. Divers are drawn to its thick, rounded ridges and the way it creates shade and contrast against surrounding sand or coral rubble. Depending on the site, you may also see it hosting small reef life nearby, making it a rewarding coral to linger on.
