Caryophyllia (Caryophyllia) conferta [Caryophyllia (Caryophyllia) conferta]

Description

C. conferta is often seen as a closely packed colony, with many small coral units forming a busy, mottled surface. On a dive, it can look like a patchwork of tiny domes or knobs, especially when light catches the skeleton. Divers may also notice that it holds its position firmly on rock, benefiting from currents that deliver food.
