Hump Coral [Porites evermanni]
Description
Porites evermanni typically grows as dome-like humps or knobby heads that create shelter for small reef fish and invertebrates. Divers may see tiny organisms living in and around its crevices, while the coral itself remains relatively compact and robust. At night or during low light, the colony can look slightly different as polyps and fine surface details become more apparent.
