Anemone Coral [Goniopora calicularis]
Description
Divers may encounter Goniopora calicularis as a colony with a distinct, textured surface and numerous polyps that can look like small, rounded crowns. When the polyps are extended, the coral can resemble a cluster of tiny flowers or anemones. It’s a rewarding species to watch as the polyps respond to light and flow throughout a dive.
