Flabellum curvatum [Flabellum (Flabellum) curvatum]
Description
Flabellum curvatum gets its name from its curved, flared growth form, which can resemble a gently arched fan. Divers may see the coral’s surface slightly raised and textured, with polyps extending to capture food from the water column. In current, it can look especially dynamic—like a slow, underwater wave.
