Flabellum chunii [Flabellum (Flabellum) chunii]
Description
Flabellum chunii is a soft-looking, fan-like coral that can look almost like a small, folded umbrella on the seafloor. Divers may see it partially extended, with tiny feeding polyps giving the surface a fine, textured appearance. It’s a great example of how stony corals can still look delicate and “feathered” underwater.
