Gyrosmilia interrupta [Gyrosmilia interrupta]
Description
Gyrosmilia interrupta is a stony coral that can look like a series of rounded, stacked ridges or lobes, often with a subtle “stepped” pattern. Divers may notice its polyps extending to form small, delicate openings on the coral surface, giving it a textured, almost architectural look on the reef.
