Orange Cup Coral [Tubastraea coccinea]
Description
As the name suggests, divers are drawn to its bright orange, cup-shaped polyps that can carpet rock in patches. The cups may be partially open, and in the right conditions the coral can look almost like a field of tiny lanterns. It’s a striking sight—especially against darker reef rock.
