Balanophyllia (Balanophyllia) chnous [Balanophyllia (Balanophyllia) chnous]
Description
This species typically forms compact colonies attached to hard bottoms, where divers can see a textured surface dotted with small polyp mouths. When the water movement and light are favorable, polyps may extend slightly, giving the colony a more “active” look. It’s often encountered on sheltered reef faces or rocky outcrops.
