Pore Coral [Montipora aequituberculata]
Description
Divers often spot this Montipora as a low, branching or plate-like coral with lots of small, evenly spaced pores. Up close, the surface texture looks like a field of tiny openings, and the coral’s subtle colors can range from pale tan to muted greens depending on light and water conditions. It’s a great species to photograph because the pore pattern is so distinctive.
