Starflower Coral [Astreopora cucullata]
Description
Divers often notice this coral as small, rounded mounds with a distinctive “star-like” look from the surface texture. Up close, the tiny corallites give it a delicate, lacey appearance, and in clear water it can look especially crisp against sandy or reef-slope backgrounds.
