Net Coral [Alveopora japonica]
Description
Alveopora japonica often appears as a finely meshed coral with a netted, honeycomb-like surface. Divers can enjoy close-up viewing of its delicate structure, especially when it’s partially shaded by overhangs or reef crests. When conditions are right, small polyps may extend, adding a subtle living texture over the skeletal “net.”
