Acropora gemmifera [Acropora gemmifera]
Description
Divers often spot this branching coral as delicate, finger-like tips that form a lacy, high-contrast structure against the reef. In clear water, its fine branches create a maze of shadows where small reef fish and invertebrates like to shelter. With good buoyancy, you may notice how the colony’s shape and branch spacing change as it grows.
