Acropora cardenae [Acropora cardenae]
Description
Divers often spot this branching coral as delicate, finger-like structures that form airy thickets on reef slopes. In clear water, its fine branches can look almost lace-like, and you may notice small reef fish weaving in and out of the structure. Like many acroporans, it’s a fast-growing coral that helps build complex habitat for the reef’s small residents.
