Actinothoe yarrellii [Actinothoe yarrellii]
Description
This anemone is often found attached to rocks or other stable surfaces, where it can look like a neat, rounded patch of living tissue. Divers may observe its tentacles extending outward to feed, then retracting when the environment becomes less favorable. It’s a great example of how even small reef and rocky-bottom creatures can add texture and life to a dive site.
