Actinothoe paradoxa [Actinothoe paradoxa]
Description
This species is typically encountered on soft bottoms, where it lives partially buried and can be easy to miss at first glance. Underwater, divers may notice a small, delicate-looking opening or faintly visible tentacles emerging from the sediment. With patience, you can often see it respond to passing currents and touch by drawing back into its hiding place.
