Actinothoe kerguelensis [Actinothoe kerguelensis]
Description
This species is usually found on hard bottoms where it can cling securely and remain in place while currents pass by. Divers may see a low, anchored body with tentacles that spread outward to capture passing food particles. It’s a great example of how even small, cryptic animals can add texture and movement to a reef or rocky seascape.
