Alcyonium robustum [Alcyonium robustum]
Description
This species tends to form sturdier, more substantial-looking colonies than some other soft corals, often creating thick, fleshy masses. Divers may notice it as a prominent feature on rocky substrates, sometimes with a lobed or knobby surface. When illuminated by dive lights, the colony’s texture and color variations become especially striking against the surrounding seafloor.
