Description
Divers may spot this soft coral as a low, cushion-like growth that clings to rocky bottoms. Its colonies often appear in muted tones and can form gentle, irregular mounds that sway slightly with the current. Up close, the surface texture looks velvety, with many small openings giving it a distinctive “soft” look compared to hard corals.
