Alcyonium elegans [Alcyonium elegans]

Description

Alcyonium elegans is frequently encountered as a soft, cushiony or lobed colony that can stand out against rock or sand. Divers may see a smooth-to-velvety surface with small openings and fine texture from the living polyps. Its gentle, flexible form makes it look almost “alive” even when the water is calm.
