Alcyonium compressum [Alcyonium compressum]
Description
Alcyonium compressum is often seen as a flattened, spreading soft coral that hugs the substrate. Divers may find it on sheltered rocky areas where currents are gentle enough for the colony to remain stable while still swaying. Its surface texture and small polyp openings can be visible up close, especially when light hits at an angle.
