Alcyonium bocagei [Alcyonium bocagei]
Description
Divers often notice this soft coral as a lumpy, branching or cushion-like colony that can form low, textured patches on rocky bottoms. In clear water it may appear in muted tones, and its surface can look velvety as polyps extend and retract with the current. With a gentle approach, you may see tiny feeding movements as the colony captures plankton.
