Pelagia cyanella [Pelagia cyanella]
Description
Pelagia cyanella is a striking jellyfish with a cool, bluish tone that can stand out in open water. Divers may see it floating in the midwater, where it looks like a drifting, semi-transparent dome with trailing structures. It’s most often encountered during calm dives when the water column is clear enough to spot these slow-moving drifters.
